Hormonal Health, Environmental Toxins, and Detoxing off of HBC (IG Live Recap)
This past Wednesday I had the pleasure of co-hosting my first ever Instagram Live. My friend Brogan, who I met in a volunteer position a few years back, is also passionate about the relationship between hormonal health and the the toxins in our world.
If you missed it and want to watch the replay, click here. We chat about our experiences getting off of The Pill and hope to inspire others to not feel so alone if they recently made the switch.
In both Brogan’s journey and my own, we found that switching over to non-toxic products, using food as medicine, and prioritizing our mental health was the most helpful.
Non-Toxic Living Tips & Resources For Your Hormones:
Switch to human-safe products: ditch the nasties (especially products with pththalates, parabens, glyphosate, BPA, PCBs, etc.) I love this non-toxic foundation pigmented by FRUIT! Brogan and I also shared a common love for Ilia. Some faves for home products are Stasher Bags and the Avocado Green Mattress.
Optimize your nutrition: Add in liver-supporting and toxin-binding foods like cruciferous vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, etc.) and herbs. You could also consider cycle-synching your diet.
Have a daily spiritual practice: whatever this might look like for you, dedicating time every day for your mental and emotional health is important. Brogan loves the Calm app and I am a big fan of Insight Timer. Another thing we both jive with are binaural beats, have you heard of these healing tones? I loved listening to this one when I was dealing with insomnia back in the day.
Nurturing your lymphatic system by dry brushing or using an infrared sauna.
