Embracing Uniqueness In A World Of Botox And Injectables — My Thoughts On The Elephant In The Room
I have so many mixed feelings about the beauty industry these days. On one hand, it's refreshing to see people embracing their unique traits and celebrating their natural beauty but on the other hand I feel sad and overwhelmed by the increasing prevalence of injectables being used in younger and younger populations. How can the same society that claims to be embracing natural beauty and uniqueness be the same society making women feel less than if they are not participating in altering their face? It is one massive conflict that, quit frankly, not enough people are talking about.
I decided to break my silence on this subject in Episode 38 of Lifelong Podcast with the Clearstem Skincare founders, Danielle Gronich and Kayleigh Christina. Listen in to this episode to hear my take on botox.
The beauty industry's focus on achieving a specific look through injectables and other cosmetic procedures can also contribute to this pressure. While it's okay to make personal choices about our appearance, it's important to prioritize our overall well-being and happiness. Ultimately, beauty standards are subjective and constantly evolving. It's up to us as individuals to decide what makes us feel confident and beautiful, and not to feel pressured to conform to any specific ideal. Authenticity and individuality should be celebrated, not suppressed, in the beauty industry and beyond.
I support people making their own choices for their precious vessels, but I want to encourage people to ask more questions to themselves and their providers.
